Radnja filma se odvija u centralnom dijelu Bosne i Hercegovine, gdje Tigar, poznati diverzant, dobija zadatak da u sedam dana uništi most preko kojeg treba da prođu njemačke trupe. Projektanta mosta, inženjera, koji jedini poznaje njegovu slabu tačku Gestapovci drže zarobljenog. Nakon što ga drugovi oslobode on odbija saradnju, ali shvativši stratešku važnost rušenja mosta i da je jedini koji to može izvesti, on pristaje.

The story takes place in central Bosnia where Tiger, a notorious guerrilla fighter, is given seven days to destroy a bridge to prevent the German troops from crossing. Th engineer who designed the bridge is the only one who knows its weak spot, and he is kept hostage by the Gestapo. After the comrades liberate the engineer, he refuses to cooperate at first, but once he grasps the strategic importance of destroying the bridge and realizes he is the only one who can make it happen, he agrees to help them.
