BiH Film Museum
W alter Defends Sarajevo is a film museum dedicated to the gloriuous action film by movie director Hajrudin Šibe Krvavac (1926-1992), located in the Sarajevo Film Center, at the very city center, near famous Markale.
The film “Walter Defends Sarajevo” (1972) is a story about Vladimir Walter Perić, the hero of the resistance movement in Sarajevo occupied by Nazi forces during World War II. Walter was killed just hours before the city was finally liberated, defending the city’s main power plant.
“Walter Defends Sarajevo” is one of the most popular films produced in social in socialist Yugoslavia, whit actor legends from the former Yugoslavia, whit actor legends from the former Yugoslavia starring: Velimir Bata Živojinović, Ljubiša Samardžić, Rade Marković, Dragomir Gidra Bojanić, Relja Bašić and others. This film is a cult work from that historical period and one of the symbols of the city of Sarajevo.
The museum is an attractive combination of wax figures, stage reconstructions from film, video and audio multimedia, whit rich documentation of this cult film and the historical background on which the film is based.
